The Mies [Shoe] Bench is wholly inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s mantra of “Less is More.” With the attention to detail, clean lines, and minimal waste, the Mies [Shoe] Bench comes alive as not only a place to store shoes but also a place for the shoe wearer to sit and pause.
As per the client’s specification, the Mies [Shoe] Bench needed to provide flexible space for shoes of varying sizes as well as match the adjacent furniture. The bench is framed by MIG welded angle iron and inlaid with custom cut birch plywood.
